Dear Muffin,
(yes we still call you muffin)
We are in California soaking in the summer shade and breezes with you this week. It is a bittersweet week (although mostly sweet) as we end a chapter in your life as we embark on a new routine. Your fourth month of life will be full of changes as I return to work, start you on solids, work your way through teething and rolling over, and many other firsts I am sure you will cross this month. This post could be all about me and my emotions of what these past 4 months have meant to me and how this next month will be the hardest month of our my life. This post is about you and how much you have grown from a newborn to our baby girl this past month who now holds her head up high, loves to sit up all the time, really really really trying to roll over for the first time, eating like a champ, can play on your own for a few minutes, laughing and smiling almost every second of the day, and truly enjoying being interactive with everyone you meet. I am so thankful I took the extra month of maternity leave as you have developed it seems overnight (over this past month) into this strong infant rather than newborn. It is simply mindblowing. Although this in a month of transitions I am going to try to make them as smooth as possible for you and really treasure the time we do have together as a family. You are so loved sweet little Lexi and my heart and life is more joyous and colorful because of you.
Love you,
Mommy
